Looks like a good trail with some amazing weather. I'm happy you guys were able to find something else after the closures in Castle.

You can get to the plane site by Jeep, I did it in June. Would be great now, there was still 6ft of snow at the very top when I was there. Just had to hike the last 200m by foot, no big deal.

The trails are good enough to go there yes, but the updated maps and contacts with law enforcement have said starting Summer 2017 all trails south of highway 3 are closed to full size highway vehicles. I believe by 2019-2020 they will be closed to all motorized traffic.

What do they consider summer?

I'm going to go with July 1, but I'm also going to say the current 2017 map says none. I saw several groups of people try throughout June and the first group I saw try to go in July said they were turned around by fish & wildlife officers.

Jeez. Well I'm thankful I did this one last fall.

Will have to get out and do the rest of the trails before they are all shut down

Update from this weekend on that bridge we couldn't get across that links dutch creek and racehorse creek valleys, it has since been upgraded to a full size bridge for logging trucks. Race horse pass is a very easy stock friendly trail, at lease the Alberta side of it is.
